Arsenal boss Unai Emery is a huge fan of the Frenchman, says the Express, and he is willing to pay Barca £9m to bring the 21-year-old on loan to the Emirates. The Gunners would then pay £80m in 12 months’ time to make the deal permanent.
Boateng says no to United
A lot of the transfer talk at Old Trafford in the past 24 hours has been about Paul Pogba and a potential move to Barcelona, but boss Jose Mourinho has also been dealt a blow in his search for a new defender. German newspaper Bild reports that Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has turned down a move to United. Bild football writer Christian Falk tweeted: “Jerome Boateng called Jose Mourinho to tell him personally that he is grateful for the interest, but he won’t come to Manchester.”
Last-ditch bid for Maguire?
Have Manchester United been given fresh hope in their bid to sign Leicester City defender Harry Maguire? Leicester are close to signing two new defenders and are “bracing themselves for a last-ditch United bid” for the England star. The Foxes are set to sign Filip Benkovic from Dinamo Zagreb for £13.5m and Caglar Soyuncu from Freiburg for £22.5m. (Daily Mirror)
Kurt Zouma: Chelsea to Everton
Everton are confident of signing Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea. Toffees boss Marco Silva is still in the market for a central defender after moves for Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo and Barcelona’s Yerry Mina stalled. (Daily Mail)
James Ward-Prowse: Southampton to Watford
Watford manager Javi Gracia is “keen to bolster his midfield” with the signing of Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse. The Hornets have bid £10m for the 23-year-old. (The Sun)
Isaac Mbenza: Montpellier to Huddersfield Town

Maxime Gonalons: Roma to West Ham United

Hammers eye double deal
West Ham are also lining up Arsenal’s Lucas Perez and Fiorentina’s Carlos Sanchez before tomorrow’s deadline. Perez could complete a £5m transfer while midfielder Sanchez is seen as a replacement for Cheikhou Kouyate, who signed for Crystal Palace. (Evening Standard)
Jordan Ayew: Swansea City to Crystal Palace/Fulham
London rivals Crystal Palace and Fulham are battling to sign Swansea City’s Jordan Ayew. The Swans, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, want £12m for the 26-year-old Ghana forward. (Daily Mirror)
