The Daily Express, quoting odds from the bookmaker Coral, says that Lyon are favourites to re-sign Lacazette, but Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille are “also in the race to secure his signature”.
Pique rules out return to Old Trafford
Manchester United have searched the world for a new centre-half but one defender who won’t be moving to Old Trafford anytime soon is Barcelona ace Gerard Pique. The 31-year-old played for United from 2004 to 2008 but when asked about a return he told the Daily Star: “I don’t think so. I’m very happy here [at Barcelona]. It’s my home, with my family and friends, and playing for the club I always dreamed to play, and I hope to win more titles here.”
Toure passes medical in London
Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitry Seluk has sparked speculation of his client’s future after posting on Twitter that the former Manchester City midfielder had “passed a medical in London” and was “close to signing a new contract”. Seluk ruled out Toure signing for West Ham or Crystal Palace saying that the 35-year-old was “a champion. The last place is not for him”. According to the Daily Mirror, Toure is closing in on a return to Greek club Olympiakos.
