Chelsea hope Higuain will make his debut tomorrow night against Tottenham in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
However they face a race against time, The Daily Telegraph says, as he would need to be registered by 12 midday today in order to face Spurs, who hold a 1-0 aggregate lead.
Dybala on Real radar
Another Juventus and Argentina forward who could be on the move is Paulo Dybala. Real Madrid are reported to be interested in the 25-year-old and are lining up a £90m bid this summer. Dybala has also been linked with Manchester City. (The Sun)
Barca optimistic over De Jong
Manchester City could also miss out on Ajax talent Frenkie de Jong. The Dutch midfielder is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain but Spanish giants Barcelona are “increasingly optimistic” they will sign the 21-year-old. (ESPN)
Arnautovic can go in the summer
Marko Arnautovic has been told by West Ham that he can leave in the summer if they receive an acceptable offer. The Austrian forward, 29, was the subject of a £36m bid from a Chinese Super League team. (The Daily Telegraph)
United reject Bailly loan
Arsenal have enquired about taking Manchester United defender Eric Bailly on loan until the end of the season. United have rejected the move from the Gunners. (Daily Mail)
Ramsey to leave in January?
If Arsenal can secure loan deals for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez and Bayern Munich’s James Rodriguez they could allow midfielder Aaron Ramsey to leave during the January transfer window. Welsh star Ramsey is out of contract at the end of the season and will leave on a free transfer. (Independent)
Martins out, Morata in at Atletico
Arsenal and Monaco have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid winger Gelson Martins and now Newcastle United have joined the race. Spanish newspaper AS reports that the Toon have bid £4.3m to sign the 23-year-old Portuguese international on loan. The Daily Mail says Atletico want to offload Martins to make space to sign Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata.
Mepham makes move
Brentford defender Chris Mepham has completed his £12m move to Bournemouth. The centre-back is Bournemouth’s third signing of the transfer window after bringing in Nathaniel Clyne (loan) and Dominic Solanke (£19m) from Liverpool. (Sky Sports)
Reds eye Hudson-Odoi
Liverpool have joined Bayern Munich in the race to sign Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi. German giants Bayern have reportedly bid £35m for the 18-year-old winger. (Daily Star)
