St. Louis Rams owner plans to build stadium in Los Angeles

St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke says he is prepared to bring football back to Los Angeles.

After purchasing 60 acres of land in Inglewood last year, Kroenke partnered with another developer who already planned to build a sprawling retail and residential development there, according to The Los Angeles Times. Now, the two plan to add an 80,000-seat football stadium to the mix — which could lure the Rams back to California, where they played until 1994.

That said, Kroenke has for some time been trying to leverage the threat of an L.A. move to convince St. Louis to chip in more toward improving the Rams' current home; the sides are $575 million apart on that front, per the Times. So it's still quite possible St. Louis antes up in the end, the L.A. plan fizzles, and the Rams remain right where they are.
