Dreading the idea of staying up with your kids until midnight this New Year's Eve? Thanks to Netflix, you have a novel new option: trick them into going to bed whenever you want.
The original Netflix children's series All Hail King Julien, which is based on the Madagascar franchise, is set to debut a three-minute New Year's Eve countdown special in advance of the holiday. Whenever you're ready for your kids to go to bed, queue up Netflix, hit play, yell "Happy New Year," tuck them in, and break out the champagne.
Of course, to pull off the trick, you'll need to tolerate King Julien's antics for three consecutive minutes. Rock or hard place, parents — make your move. --Scott Meslow
