The euro just hit a 2-year low

The euro keeps dropping against the dollar, hitting more than a two-year low Monday, Bloomberg News reports.

The value fell as Greece, one of 18 nations sharing the currency, faces a political crisis. The ruling coalition's presidential candidate failed to get enough votes in parliament, creating a need for new elections in early 2015.

As 2014 winds down, Russia's ruble is also performing poorly. The dollar, on the other hand, is poised to gain against all of its major counterparts this year for the first time since at least 1989.
