The FBI is reportedly investigating Gamergate
Talk of Gamergate has died down a little lately, but expect it to circle back: The FBI is reportedly investigating the movement.
That's according to Michael Morisy, co-founder of MuckRock, a website that specializes in sending Freedom of Information Act requests. In response to his request for the FBI files on Gamergate, he got a standard form letter denying the records due to a current investigation.
"There is a pending or prospective law enforcement proceeding relevant to these responsive records," the letter read.

What, exactly, the FBI is investigating remains unclear, but it very well could pertain to the movement's rape and death threats targeting women in gaming and journalism.
