You can't tattoo your pet in New York

New Yorkers looking to give their dogs some personal style should stay away from body modifications and stick to the tame stuff, like humiliating lobster costumes. In 120 days, you won't be able to tattoo or pierce your pets anywhere in the state. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the bill into law today, CBS New York reports.

"This is animal abuse, plain and simple," Cuomo said in a news release. "I'm proud to sign this common sense legislation and end these cruel and unacceptable practices in New York once and for all."
