Wily Texas dog literally eats his owner's homework

Of all the reasons to request an extension on an assignment, "My dog ate my homework" is one most likely to receive an eyeroll from a skeptical teacher.

But Reagan Hardin's dog, Roscoe, really did eat a farm diorama she made for her AP history class in Magnolia, Texas — and it nearly killed him. The hungry pup chowed down on plastic horses, sheep, chickens, and even some chicken wire that could have pierced his belly. Reagan's parents rushed the family pet to the vet, where doctors inserted a scope to remove the ill-advised snack.
