The Simpsons' Christmas opening credits include 'obligatory Frozen' gag
Sunday night's Simpsons holiday episode, "I Won't Be Home for Christmas," started a little differently. There's a modified theme song, a Christmas-themed chalkboard message, polar bears throwing about Groundskeeper Willie, Otto smoking a candy cane, and a gingerbread Simpsons house, among other changes in the opening credits. But the Simpsons creative team also decided to include an "obligatory Frozen reference" — a testament to the Disney film's staying power, since it came out a year ago. There's no "Let It Go" homage, but Homer, nicely cast, steals the couch gag scene. --Peter Weber
