Coming soon: a movie based on Barack and Michelle Obama's first date

The now-storied first date between Barack and Michelle Obama — a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, a long walk, and a screening of Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing — is due to hit the big screen.
Southside With You, a romance movie based on the Obamas' first date, is scheduled to start filming in Chicago in July. Get On Up's Tika Sumpter will star as Michelle Obama (née Robinson), though the role of Barack Obama has not yet been cast.
In an interview with Deadline, producer Stephanie Tracey Bing called Southside With You a "smart and timeless film that sheds light on one of the great love stories of our time," and said they're looking forward to finding "the perfect Barack."
