The U.S. hasn't seen job growth like this since the 1990s

The Labor Department today reported strong job growth, saying that the economy had added an impressive 321,000 jobs in November. It's the latest indication that the labor market is finally shaking off its hangover from the Great Recession, in what has been a very good year for jobs, as Justin Wolfers, an economist who writes for The New York Times, points out:

If economic conditions continue to improve, it could lift President Obama's approval ratings, which would help the Democratic Party as it heads into the 2016 election.
