X-Men: Apocalypse has found its big villain

The X-Men franchise has found their next big villain. Oscar Isaac has reportedly closed a deal to play the titular baddie in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, which is due to hit theaters in 2016.
Director Bryan Singer reportedly met with numerous actors about the chance to play Apocalypse, but Variety reports that Isaac has been "the long-time favorite from the start." Apocalypse was briefly introduced at the end of last summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past:
Though Isaac is best known for performances in indie dramas like Drive and Inside Llewyn Davis, he's one of Hollywood's fastest-rising stars, with a supporting performance still to come in next year's Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.
