Accused marathoner runs 5 miles, can't escape police
An elite marathoner couldn't evade police with his athleticism. Eric Kipkemei Chirchir left his belongings behind to pick up and run five miles after police confronted him about an alleged sexual assault, Runner's World reports.
The Kenyan runner, 31, allegedly touched a 15-year-old girl inappropriately in the women's locker room of New Jersey's Bogota Golf Center, where he works.
Police caught up to him after his sprint, though. Now he's being held in jail and potentially facing deportation. So where did police find him, you ask? Hiding in his 6-year-old daughter's closet.
