Male TV anchor wears the same suit for a year to prove a point about sexism
Popular host of The Today Show Australia Karl Stefanovic is known for being a prankster. But his latest stunt went unnoticed for a full year — until now.
Stefanovic wore the same suit on air for 365 days to make a point about sexism, and to protest the unfair treatment of his female co-anchor, Lisa Wilkinson. Wilkinson has faced almost daily criticism from viewers and the tabloids in regards to her clothing, makeup, and general appearance. Stefanovic, meanwhile, didn't hear a peep about his 365-day suit:
"No one has noticed; no one gives a shit," Stefanovic told Fairfax Media. "Women are judged much more harshly and keenly for what they do, what they say and what they wear... I'm judged on my interviews, my appalling sense of humor — on how I do my job, basically. Whereas women are quite often judged on what they're wearing or how their hair is."
