Dr. Martin Salia, a surgeon who became infected with Ebola while treating patients in Serra Leone, has died in a Nebraska hospital.
"Dr. Salia was extremely critical when he arrived here, and unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we weren't able to save him," the Nebraska Medical Center said in a statement.
Salia was flown to the medical center over the weekend, about one week after being diagnosed with Ebola. He is the second person to die from Ebola in the United States.
