Bill Cosby will not appear on the Late Show with David Letterman as planned on Wednesday, The New York Times reports.

A spokeswoman for the show did not say whether Cosby or the show decided to cancel the appearance, but go-to alternative Regis Philbin is now listed as the main guest for Wednesday's episode.

The cancelation comes in the wake of a first-person account published in The Washington Post on Wednesday, in which Barbara Bowman alleges that Cosby raped her multiple times when she was an aspiring actress in the 1980s. Cosby has been accused of assault and rape by a number of women over the years, but he has never been convicted.
