Dementors are loosely based on the symptoms of depression, and 24 other Harry Potter facts

Did you know that Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling share the same birthday? That's just one of the 25 facts about the Potterverse in this week's video from our sister site, Mental Floss.

Rowling apparently based the "cold, unfeeling" Dementors on her personal experience with depression, and she originally planned that Arthur Weasley would die instead of Sirius Black. And Rowling is the first person to ever become a billionaire from book writing.
