North Korea frees two American citizens
U.S. officials said today that Kenneth Bae and Matthew Todd Miller, both U.S. citizens who had been detained by the North Korean government, have been freed and are returning to the United States, Reuters reports.
Bae had been held in North Korea since 2012, when he was arrested and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor following a visit to the country as a missionary. Miller was arrested in April of this year and sentenced to six years of hard labor. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is reportedly accompanying the two men back to the U.S.
