Billy Joel gives Paul McCartney's 'Maybe I'm Amazed' the Piano Man treatment
Billy Joel hasn't recorded a pop album since 1993 — but that doesn't mean he won't cover a pop music classic from one of his original inspirations.
As part of the upcoming Paul McCartney tribute album The Art of McCartney, Joel covers "Maybe I'm Amazed," from McCartney's 1970 debut solo album. But the new track is quintessentially Billy Joel — the vocals are growling and sweet in turns, the orchestrations are lush, and of course, Joel's piano is front and center.
Check out behind-the-scenes from the making of The Art of McCartney at Rolling Stone, and be on the lookout for the entire album November 18.
