Republicans have a 74 percent chance of reclaiming the Senate

That's according to FiveThirtyEight's latest election forecast, which shows the GOP's odds ticking up over the closing weeks of the campaign. The New York Times' model is a tad less bullish on a GOP-led Senate, but it still gives the party a 70 percent chance of flipping the upper chamber on Tuesday.

Over the weekend, a handful of polls showed Republican candidates faring quite well in Kentucky, Iowa, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Georgia, suggesting those key races are theirs to lose.
