Here Comes Honey Boo Boo canceled over child molestation controversy
Just a day after TMZ reported that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch Mama June has been dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel for several months, TLC has formally canceled the reality series.
"Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority," said the network in a statement. "TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being."
In response to the cancelation, June posted a Facebook video denying the allegations and thanking the show's fans. "Just got a phone call this morning from TLC, and as of right now, there's going to be no production for the show," said June. "The statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue... I would not ever ever ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years, and don't seem to want to see that person."
