Republican Greg Abbott is crushing Democrat Wendy Davis in Texas

Republican Greg Abbott seems like a shoo-in to replace Rick Perry as Texas' governor. The latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll shows that 54 percent of likely voters support Abbott, compared to just 38 percent for Democrat Wendy Davis. And it's not as if she's closing the gap:
Davis has been pulling out all the stops, but it doesn't seem to be working. First she released a controversial ad that accused Abbott, who won a multi-million dollar settlement from an insurance company after being paralyzed in a freak accident in 1984, of trying to limit the amount of damages plaintiffs can receive in personal injury lawsuits. She also leveled a bizarre attack on Abbott for supposedly "refusing to say" what his position was on interracial marriage bans. Abbott's wife is Latina.
