It's been nearly a decade since The Comeback aired on HBO — but Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow) is returning to the small screen, and she hasn't changed a bit. "A star is reborn," the new trailer announces, with characteristic grandeur. Of course, things don't exactly go smoothly from there:
The Comeback was canceled after a single, relatively low-rated season in 2005 — but the show's cult following has grown in the years since then, as audiences have adjusted the dense, self-referential nature of an insider's look at the TV business. We'll see if Valerie Cherish can capitalize on one final shot at stardom when The Comeback returns next month.
