Rainbow Brite is the latest 1980s cartoon to get a reboot, this time as a series on subscription video service Feeln.
The series will launch on Nov. 6, with three episodes a week, The Hollywood Reporter says. Emily Osment will voice Rainbow Brite, while another '80s superstar, Molly Ringwald, will voice villain The Dark Princess. The series will follow Rainbow Brite as she tries to save Rainbowland from the forces of darkness, and it will feature Starlite and the Color Kids from the original show.
"With Rainbow Brite, we believe we have created something that captures the essence of the original series — but with a vision that resonates today," Iris Ichishita, head of original entertainment at Feeln, told The Hollywood Reporter. "We hope audiences will react with an 'oh my bows!' — just like us." Watch the trailer for very un-'80s new Rainbow Brite below. --Catherine Garcia
