Republican Sen. Pat Roberts is now getting some actual good news in the Kansas Senate race, with a new poll from CNN that is the first in quite a while to show him ahead of independent candidate Greg Orman — though just barely.
The poll shows Roberts with 49 percent, just edging out Orman at 48 percent. The survey of likely voters was conducted from Oct. 2 to 6, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
Notably, this poll was conducted at nearly the same time as a separate SurveyUSA poll that was released last night showing Orman ahead, 47 percent to 42 percent. Could Roberts actually gain any real momentum, and does Orman have his own upper limit of support in the high 40's? We'll just have to wait for more polls to keep on coming, to try to see who's right.
