Babies born in 2012 will on average live longer than previous generations of Americans, according to the latest mortality rate data released Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Americans born in 2012 have a record-high life expectancy of 78.8 years, an increase of 0.1 years from Americans born in 2011. And female babies have a slighter longer life expectancy — 81.2 years to 76.4 years for men.
