McConnell opponent runs new ad, starring Bill Clinton

Alison Lundergan Grimes, the Democratic challenger in Kentucky to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, has a new ad featuring the best single supporter a Democrat can probably get: Former President Bill Clinton.
The ad, which her campaign first gave to The Huffington Post, uses video of Clinton campaigning for Grimes during a rally the two held together in early August.
"What's being a senator about, anyway?" Clinton says. "One candidate believes it's about getting new jobs, getting good jobs, giving middle class people a chance to give their kids a decent life."

"Nobody can tell me it's not a senator's job to create jobs," Clinton adds — in a dig against a remark that McConnell said earlier this year. The ad concludes with Clinton: "And I choose Alison, because she will work with people from both parties to do what's right for you. Send Alison to the Senate."
The most recent independent poll of the race, from Reuters/Ipsos in mid-September, showed McConnell ahead by 4 points. --Eric Kleefeld
