A robust majority of Americans support President Obama's plan to conduct airstrikes against ISIS in Syria, according to an ABC News/ Washington Post poll out Wednesday.

In the survey, 70 percent of adults say they support the airstrikes, while 26 percent say they do not. The strikes enjoy broad support among not only Democrats (74 percent) but Republicans (80 percent) and Independents (65 percent) as well. And oddly enough, though only 30 percent of Republicans say they approve of Obama's overall approach to combating ISIS, they more than any other demographic support the specifics of his plan, per the poll.
