An Algerian terrorist group has beheaded a hostage after warning France to discontinue its offensive against ISIS, according to a U.S. watchdog agency.
The watchdog, SITE Intelligence Group, said the ISIS-allied group Jund al-Khilafah on Wednesday released a video showing the execution of French citizen Herve Gourdel. Jund al-Khilafah kidnapped Gourdel Sunday, and then released a video warning that it would execute him unless France stopped intervening in Iraq.
France conducted its first airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq on Friday, and has said it will continue to launch strikes in tandem with the United States.
