On Tuesday night, U.S. airstrikes hit ISIS fighters in northern Syria.
The strikes were carried out by military aircraft, but the Pentagon has not yet confirmed that the attacks were undertaken by the same U.S. military group that struck ISIS fighters in Syria on Monday night.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Wednesday that ISIS positions near the Kurdish city of Kobani, also known as Ayn al-Arab, were hit in the attacks. ISIS's siege of the city has sparked a refugee crisis, sending nearly 140,000 Syrian Kurds fleeing to southern Turkey since Friday.
