Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn to star in True Detective's next season
Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn will team up for the second season of HBO's hit show True Detective, the network announced Tuesday. The announcement put to bed months of speculation that turned into something of a running joke, complete with its own hashtag.
Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a "compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him," according to a press release. Vaughn will star as Frank Semyon, a "career criminal in danger of losing his empire" following the murder of a business partner.
According to HBO, additional casting will be announced as it's confirmed — so it's certainly possible we'll see the announcement of a much-rumored female lead sometime in the near future (fingers crossed it's Elisabeth Moss).
