Kenan Thompson is leaving Saturday Night Live

Saturday Night Live performer Kenan Thompson — who joined the sketch comedy's featured cast more than a decade ago — will leave the series at the end of the season.
TMZ reports that Thompson was originally planning to leave last year, but stayed when producer Lorne Michaels asked him to stay on for one more year.
Thompson will be missed on SNL, but fortunately, there's a good chance that his departure from the small screen will be short-lived; he's currently in talks to appear in a new TV show.
