An estimated 310,000 people took to the streets of Manhattan Sunday to participate in the People's Climate March. The demonstration was held days before President Obama is to work with the U.N. on crafting a foundation for a lasting global emissions framework. And though there were some incredible images showcasing the enormity of the crowd:
…the most potent picture was arguably this one, via Getty, showing renowned anthropologist Jane Goodall, former Vice President Al Gore, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon marching together.
