With his final season in pinstripes winding down, Derek Jeter took to the streets around Yankee Stadium to shake hands with unsuspecting fans who were completely surprised by his presence.
Yes, the whole thing is staged. And yes, the ad kind of implies Jeter is just now getting to know the fans who've watched him play for the past two decades. But of all the ad nauseam Jeter tributes, this is still (somehow) the most understated — remember those funerary arm patches?
So farewell, Jeets. You'll soon have a whole lot more time on your hands to hawk brands.
