Vikings fan in Adrian Peterson jersey tailgates while brandishing a switch

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is not playing football this weekend after he was indicted for allegedly beating his child with a tree branch. So in a bizarre show of support for the star player, a Vikings fan chose to tailgate Sunday before the team's game while wearing a Peterson jersey and carrying a makeshift switch.

Many other fans also came out to the game in Peterson jerseys, according to Kim Johnson, a reporter for the local CBS.

Peterson turned himself in Saturday to Montgomery County, Texas, authorities following his indictment for child abuse. He was released after posting a $15,000 bond.
