Adrian Peterson, the star NFL running back who has played for the Minnesota Vikings for the past eight years, has reportedly been indicted for reckless or negligent injury to a child in Montgomery County, Texas.
Child Protective Services confirmed to TMZ that they are working on a case involving Peterson and an 11-year-old-boy. The story is still developing; when contacted by Fox 26 Sports, Peterson's attorney Rusty Hardin declined comment. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added a few more details:
Peterson didn't practice with his teammates yesterday, though the Vikings explained his absence as a "veteran's day."
