Teen petitions to use laser cat photo as senior portrait

Draven Rodriguez, a student at Schenectady High School in New York, is petitioning his school to let him use a rather unique photo for his senior portrait in the yearbook.
The photo, taken by photographer Vincent Giordano of Trinacria Photography, features Rodriguez holding a cat, complete with a looming cat face and lasers in the background. The school has said that the photo can be used in the yearbook, but not as his senior portrait, CBS 6 Albany reports.
On his petition's page, Rodriguez writes that he wants to gain "as many backers as possible" before the school's yearbook deadline of Sept. 15. Though the school hasn't officially rejected the photo, Rodriguez says his petition is a "pre-emptive strike." Check out the photo in question below. --Meghan DeMaria
