Crisis in Iraq
U.S. citizen suspected of running ISIS's social media
An American college graduate from Boston, who has been on the run from the FBI for years, is suspected of joining ISIS and leveraging his computer skills to spread the Iraqi terror group's propaganda on social media, a senior law enforcement official told ABC News. [ABC]
ABC identified the suspect as Ahmad Abousamra, who has both American and Syrian citizenship.
The story merges two troubling hallmarks of the Islamic extremist group: its deft use of social media and its ability to recruit radicalized Westerners.
