Poll: Mitch McConnell leads challenger by 4 points in re-election bid
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) continues to hold a slight edge over his Democratic challenger, Alison Lundergan Grimes, in the toughest re-election fight of his Senate career, according to a CNN poll out Wednesday.
With two months to go before the midterm elections, McConnell leads Grimes 50 percent to 46 percent among likely voters. The gap is right in line with the poll's four-point margin of error, suggesting the race will be one of the most hotly-contested in November.
McConnell has put a bit of daylight between himself and Grimes of late after polls early in the race showed the Democrat running even or, occasionally, slightly ahead.
