Colts owner Jim Irsay suspended 6 games, fined $500,000 for OWI arrest

The NFL on Tuesday suspended Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay for six games and fined him $500,000 for his bizarre drugged driving arrest. Earlier in the day, Irsay pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The fine was the maximum allowable per the league's personal conduct policy.

Irsay was arrested in March while driving with oxycodone and hydrocodone in his system. He also had $29,000 in cash and several bottles of prescription painkillers in the car when he was stopped, according to police.
