A half-century ago, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was so excited about a visit to his old boss' house he almost wet himself.
McConnell was interning for former Kentucky Sen. John Sherman Cooper in the 1960s, which proved to be a formative experience. It was also almost an embarrassing experience, as McConnell told The New York Times' Jonathan Martin:
