Jim Parsons wins Best Actor in a Comedy for The Big Bang Theory

Jim Parsons just won his fourth Best Actor Emmy for playing Sheldon Cooper on CBS comedy hit The Big Bang Theory.

In a brief acceptance speech, Parsons thanked his deceased father Mickey. "He encouraged me to be an actor. He never discouraged me from being an actor," said Parsons. "In a career that hinges so much on confidence all the time, that was a great gift."
