Ukrainian President Poroshenko dissolves parliament

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Monday dissolved parliament and called for early elections to be held in October.
In a statement announcing the dissolution, Poroshenko said the move was necessary following the collapse last month of a fledgling governing coalition. In late July, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced his resignation.
The move comes amid heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with Kiev claiming Russian forces on Monday entered the country with tanks and military supplies.
