Report: Chuck Todd to replace David Gregory as Meet the Press host

We've been hearing for some time that NBC was looking to ditch David Gregory as host of Meet the Press in an attempt to turn around the show's sharp ratings decline. The consensus that Gregory was on his way out was so strong, in fact, that the only real question left seemed to be who would replace him.
That question may now be settled, as NBC will reportedly hand the gig to NBC political director and MSNBC host Chuck Todd, according to CNN's Brian Stelter. Earlier in the week, Politico's Mike Allen reported that Todd was the frontrunner to land the position.
Under Gregory, the iconic Sunday news show fell to number three in the ratings, while its viewership among the crucial 25- to 64-year-old demographic plummeted to an all-time low.
