Marin County sheriff's department releases details of Robin Williams' death

As fans across the globe continue to mourn the loss of beloved actor and comedian Robin Williams, details over the specific circumstances of his death were publicly revealed on Tuesday afternoon.
In a press conference, Marin County police lieutenant Keith Boyd said that Williams — whose death had previously been reported as a nonspecific suicide by asphyxia — committed suicide by hanging himself with a belt at his San Francisco Bay Area home. There were superficial cuts on his wrist. His body was discovered by his personal assistant on Monday morning.
Boyd added that the investigation into Williams' death is ongoing, and that the department plans to perform toxicology tests.
