Disgraced Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has formally apologized to Giorgio Chiellini for biting him on the shoulder during their group stage match in the World Cup — sort of, anyway. The apology, released through his Twitter account, hilariously describes the incident thusly: "the truth is that my colleague Giorgio Chiellini suffered the physical result of a bite in the collision he suffered with me."
In other words, Suarez is still clinging to the "his shoulder ran into my slavering maw" defense.
