CNN&#039;s Jim Acosta: IRS excuses like saying &#039;dog ate my homework&#039;

During today's White House briefing, CNN's Jim Acosta expressed skepticism over the IRS's excuse for the loss of thousands of emails. "Doesn't that sound like the dog ate my homework," Acosta asked incredulously, regarding the notion that crashed hard drives were to blame.

New White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest dismissed Acosta's suggestion as nothing more than his parroting of Republican "conspiracy theories" — but this sound bite about the dog eating the homework (which was circulated by the RNC) is sure to cause some heartburn.
