Rosario Dawson joins Netflix's upcoming take on Marvel's Daredevil
With each casting announcement for Marvel's Daredevil series — set to stream on Netflix in 2015 — that does not mention Ben Affleck or Jennifer Garner, I become more optimistic.
The latest actress to land a role on the 13-episode, live-action series is Rosario Dawson, reports Variety. Dawson has appeared in films such as Cesar Chavez and Sin City; she will reportedly play a young woman striving to save Hell's Kitchen, who crosses paths with hero Matt Murdock.
Disney has said it could spend as much as $200 million filming the series in New York; that would make Daredevil the largest television or film production commitment in the state's history. But with Joss Whedon-connected producers Steven S. DeKnight (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer) and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods, Buffy) leading the charge, that pricetag should pay off with a gritty, sarcastic take on the street-hero comic.
