Netflix signs Chelsea Handler for new talk show

In an unprecedented deal with Netflix, Chelsea Handler is moving online. The only woman with a daily talk show in the late-night field dominated by men, Handler is set to host a new talk show on Netflix, which will premiere in 2016 and be available for streaming to all Netflix subscribers.
The deal marks Netflix's first foray into topical programming, as the streaming company is known for playing host to a library of previously-aired shows and original series like House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, whose episodes become available in binge-ready full seasons.
While few details about the logistics of Handler's Netflix show have been released, Netflix said Handler's show "will feature an updated format that still encompasses Chelsea's unfiltered opinions on topical entertainment and cultural issues, as well as her signature guest interviews."
